DHSC
Committees [up]
Volunteers
[up]
DHSC needs the support of volunteers to raise funds and to provide all its services. Teachers and staff also need volunteer support. As our school grows in size annually, more help is needed to maintain the high standard of education we expect at Dixie School. Please consider volunteering at least once this year in whatever capacity suits your individual schedule. For more information on DHSC volunteering please contact the Dixie Home and School Club Chair directly.
Dixie
Arts Council [up]
The DAC is made up of volunteer parents, teachers and staff, with a mission to bring the Arts - theater, music, fine arts, and folk arts, to our children, integrating them into the traditional curriculum and classroom instruction in order to educate the whole child. The council also organizes and sponsors a Youth In Arts performance for all students. The culmination of every year's efforts is the Annual Student Art Show, held during Open House in May. Contact the Dixie Home and School Club Chair directly.
The Dixie Paw Prints [up]
The Dixie Paw Prints is a quarterly newsletter distributed to students and their parents, teachers, and the administration by the Dixie Home & School Club. It features information on school activities and special events, as well as district news, interviews with staff, a calendar, and more.
Emergency
Preparedness [up]
The DHSC and the Dixie School District have been working together to hone emergency preparedness and procedure in our schools and to oversee the needs of Dixie School students in emergency situations. If you have questions or would like to help, contact the Dixie Home and School Club Chair directly.
Friday
Folders [up]
Every Friday the informational flyers that are sent home in each student's backpack must be counted out for each classroom teacher, and put into the teachers' boxes. If you have questions or would like to help, contact the Dixie Home and School Club Chair directly.
Garden
Committee [up]
The Garden Committee was formed in response to teacher and parent interest. Last year we successfully built gardens in three locations at Dixie; a garden just outside the library in the lunch patio, a kindergarten garden near the bus stop and a school-wide garden near the creek beside the athletic fields. We are always looking for funding, donations of seeds and plant materials, gardening supplies, and laborers. Please contact the Dixie Home and School Club Chair directly to join our team!
Hospitality
[up]
Refreshments are made available at all DHSC events as well as our Home and School Club monthly meetings, and for parents on the morning of the first day of school. Please contact the Dixie Home and School Club Chair directly.
Sports
Day [up]
This is an end-of-year fun event for all of the students. Volunteers are always needed to help and to supervise the games. If you would like to help, contact the Dixie Home and School Club Chair directly.
