Manzanita and California Poppies in BloomMs. Nelson's 4th grade class is studying and working in the Native Californian Garden. Our site is located across from the E building classrooms and next to the Colonial Garden.

Some of the native plants you will find in the garden are: Coffeeberry, Oregon Grape, Silk Tassel, Sticky Monkey Flower, Yerba Buena, Figwort, Toyon, Penstemon, Yarrow, and we are still adding more!

Parent volunteers help students draw, plant, study, and care for the plants in the garden. Students are especially interested in learning about how the Native Californians used these plants in their daily lives. Many of the plants had medicinal uses, were used for making tea, or were used for making dye.
