Web
Development in the Dixie District
Web
development was first taught in the Dixie District during the 2002
- 2003 academic year under
the auspices of the state G.A.T.E. program. Courses were offered
at the elementary and middle school levels, both of which focused
on
learning basic computer literacy, HTML, image manipulation and placement,
directory and file management
as well as cross-platform, cross-browser and copyright
issues. Projects were built using a text editor and a browser. A
similar four-class courses was offered for both levels in the 2003
- 2004
academic year.
In
2006 a general web development class is being offered at Dixie Elementary
after school Wednesdays (for fee) and there is a possibility of a
Middle School GATE class being offered.
Class
projects can be found at the Class Project
