Tips to Liven Your Story

*#1 Be creative! The reader will fall asleep before he finishes the piece if there is no passion or imagination involved. Stretch your brain. There has to be an imaginary character or a faraway mysterious place you could write about.

*#2 If you choose poetry, a short, descriptive poem will earn many more points than a long, meaningless one.

*#3 A Persuasive essay is one of the most difficult to accomplish WITH skill. Your three reasons HAVE to be solid, and your evidence must be thorough to earn full points.

*#4 Narratives are possibly the most enjoyable piece, for there are no rules, but the most difficult to win with. Remember to use transitional phrases such as furthermore, in addition, moreover, likewise, or another such phrase. Also, a short, descriptive essay which explains the plot and describes the characters and their feelings with passion will most likely receive more points than a long, boring one.
