It’s time again to order your bus pass or tickets if
you wish your child to ride on a Dixie District School Bus for the 2009/10
school year. Yes, we are fortunate to still offer Home to School Bus
Transportation for the families in the District and the good news is we will
NOT have a rate increase for the 09/10 school year!
Please be aware that some routes have changed. These
changes are in response to feedback received from the transportation survey
conducted in May.
We will continue to accept credit cards (Visa,
MasterCard and debit cards) for payment when purchasing books of tickets,
and annual or semester bus passes; however we will not be offering the
Annual (3) Payment Plan this year. Credit Card transactions will be
accepted only at the District Office between the hours of 9AM and
4:30PM – not at school sites. Also keep in mind when making your purchase,
the per trip price is less when you purchase a pass ($1.25) as when you
purchase tickets ($2.00).
In order to ensure your child=s
bus pass or tickets arrive prior to the first day of school (August25,2009), we ask that you complete and mail your
application as soon as possible.

Bus Safety
There is no safer way to transport a child than in
a school bus. Accidents involving school buses are extremely rare
events even though they make a remarkable 11 billion “to-and-from
school” trips annually.
It is
important that your child is at the bus stop on time. Keep in mind that
if your child is late getting to the stop, it delays the bus route
causing other students and their parents to become concerned. Keep in
mind also that bus routes can vary slightly on a daily basis due to
absences, traffic and field trips. Please allow for this by having your
children at their stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time.

Dixie District School buses use environmentally
friendly “Green Diesel Technology”. This technology utilizes the benefit
of a catalyzed diesel particulate filter and ultra-low sulfur fuel
cutting gaseous hydrocarbons and particulate emissions by 99% and
creating no-smoke, no-smell and near zero emission levels.
